Ray D. Prueter Library Grand Reopening and Mural Unveiling

The City of Port Hueneme and the Ventura County Library (VCL) invite the community to attend a Grand Reopening and Mural Unveiling at the Ray D. Prueter Library in Port Hueneme on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm.  

There will be brief announcements by City and County representatives at 11 am inside the library. Children may also practice reading with dogs at the Paws for Reading program inside the library from 11:15 am to 12:30 pm sponsored by the Ventura County Reading Association. 

Outside the library from 11:15 am to 1:00 pm, the mural artists will be on hand to discuss the new exterior mural at the library.

The Grand Reopening open house event is an opportunity for community members to see the newly refurbished library, get library cards, and participate in activities for children. Attendees can enjoy a treat from the Mister Softee ice cream truck complimentary of the Friends of the Port Hueneme Library while supplies last.
